The original Chance Eau de Parfum, created by Jacques Polge and launched in 2005, is the fragrance that started the Chance family. It opens with a spark of pink pepper, develops into a floral heart of jasmine and iris, and finishes on a chypre-oriental base of patchouli, musk and vanilla — a fuller, more grown-up structure than the fruitier flankers that followed it.

On skin it wears warmer and more textured than Eau Tendre or Eau Fraîche, with the pink pepper opening settling into a soft, powdery patchouli-vanilla drydown that offers good projection and solid all-day longevity. It suits both office and evening wear across seasons. As the founding fragrance of the line, it remains the most classically chypre-floral of the Chance range, distinct from the fruitier Tendre and fresher Fraîche variants.
