Le Labo The Noir 29 Eau de Parfum 3.4oz

Thé Noir 29 is Le Labo's ode to black tea, built around fig, bay leaf and bergamot at the opening, a heart of cedar, vetiver and musk, and a base of tobacco and hay rounded out with whispers of black pepper, amber and black rose. Part of the brand's Classic Collection, it takes its name from the count of raw materials used, and trades sweetness for something drier and more herbal — smoky, green, and closer to a cup of strong steeped tea than to a typical gourmand.

On skin it opens crisp and slightly bitter, with the fig and bergamot fading quickly into a warm, woody tobacco drydown that carries moderate projection and six to eight hours of longevity. It reads unisex and works well in cooler weather or for evening wear, sitting between the brighter citrus of the house's Bergamote 22 and the denser amber-resin character of Labdanum 18 — less sweet than the latter, more grounded than the former.
